The principle physiotherapist at HP Physio, Paul has a Master’s degree in physiotherapy along with a bachelor degree in exercise science from Griffith University. Since graduating Paul has worked in private practice physiotherapy and has had a diverse range of experience from working with sporting teams in AFL, rugby league and basketball, to working at international triathlon events and surfing competitions. Paul has experience in running gait analysis and is also a qualified bike fitter. Paul has been lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with Olympic and Australian representative triathletes, cyclists and runners, and is the current physiotherapist with surfing Australia’s high performance team where he travels on the world championship tour.
Paul enjoys working with athletes of every level to help achieve their goals big or small. Paul performs athlete screenings and enjoys educating patients on training loads and principles to help with injury prevention. He is also a level 1 strength and conditioning coach and qualified in dry needling and clinical pilates for physiotherapist.
Outside of work you will find Paul working on his own surfing, tennis & golf game. Paul’s sporting background is in running, triathlon and surf lifesaving. Before completing his masters in physiotherapy, Paul spent two season racing triathlons at an elite level both in Australia and Europe. After a break from racing while establishing his physiotherapy career, Paul returned to racing and competed in the Hawaii Ironman world championships in 2016 and won a gold medal in the Australian surf lifesaving championships in the 2km beach run.
